Femi Gbajabiamila, for his instrumental role in converting the Femi Gbajabiamila clinic in Surulere into a cutting-edge 60-bed Femi Gbajabiamila General Hospital, equipped with advanced healthcare facilities.

Following an inspection tour of the newly revamped hospital, Prof. Abayomi hailed the transformation, acknowledging the significant upgrade from a clinic to a multi-floor, modern hospital. He highlighted the positive impact this upgrade would bring to the overall health landscape of Lagos, expressing optimism about its contribution to enhancing healthcare access and services for residents in the area.

The Commissioner underlined the essential role of the newly expanded facility in addressing the acute shortage of bed spaces in Lagos, a critical issue considering the city’s burgeoning population. He spotlighted the hospital’s modern features, including state-of-the-art medical amenities like radiology, laboratories, specialised care units, and surgical facilities, illustrating its potential to elevate healthcare provisions in Surulere.

While acknowledging existing healthcare institutions like the Randle General Hospital and the Maternal and Child Centre in the vicinity, Prof. Abayomi emphasised the unique value that the Femi Gbajabiamila General Hospital adds to the Surulere community’s healthcare ecosystem.

Anticipating commendation from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this substantial addition to public health infrastructure, Prof. Abayomi lauded the quality of construction and envisioned the hospital’s integration into Lagos’ roster of general hospitals.

The Commissioner conveyed deep gratitude to Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila for his vision and contributions, assuring optimal utilisation of the facility for the benefit of all Lagos residents. The transformation of the Femi Gbajabiamila clinic into an ultramodern general hospital signifies a significant leap forward in healthcare infrastructure, promising improved access and top-notch services for the Surulere populace.

Accompanying the Commissioner on the inspection were prominent officials, including the Permanent Secretary of Health Service (HSC) Commission, Dr. Ademuyiwa Eniayewun, and other key figures from Lagos State’s healthcare departments, reaffirming the government’s commitment to advancing quality healthcare provisions in the region.
