“I am back home, strong and ready to work” -Tinubu

Sen. Bola Tinubu, who will soon take the oath of office as president of Nigeria, arrived to Abuja on Monday after spending the previous month in Paris.

He reported that he was in good health and ready to get back to work.

In a statement that was released on Monday, Mr. Tunde Rahman, one of his media aides, cited Tinubu as stating, “I am ready for the task ahead.”

“I have rested; I am refreshed and I am ready for the task ahead.

“Forget about what the rumour mill may have told you. I’m strong; very strong.’’

He stated that he has been meeting with advisors and discussing his strategy for the country in order to have a solid team in place by the time he took office on May 29.

Tinubu flew back to Nigeria with his family in tow, including wife Oluremi and son Seyi.

The couple was greeted by a massive crowd of adoring friends and fans at the Presidential Wing of Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau, Vice President-elect Sen. Kashim Shettima, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila were all there to greet him as he arrived.

Niger’s current governor, Abubakar Sani-Bello, a former governor of Borno, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and Malam Nuhu Ribadu, a former chairman of the EFCC, were also present.

Deputy National Chairman (South) Mr. Emma Enekwu and Deputy National Chairman (North) Sen. Abubakar Kyari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were also present.

APC National Woman Leader Dr. Betta Edu and former APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Director of Media and Publicity Mr. Bayo Onanuga were also in attendance.

There were a number of senators there to greet Tinubu when he landed, including Barau Jibril, Adeola Yayi, Opeyemi Bamidele, Dayo Adeyeye, Sabi Abdullahi, Adelere Oriolowo, and Secretary of the dissolved (PCC), James Faleke.

After a long and exhausting election campaign, Nigeria’s new president jetted off to Paris on March 21.
