Lagos NAWOJ lauds Sanwo-Olu for palliatives

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter, has hailed the state government for giving palliatives to its members to cushion the effects of the COVID-19-induced lockdown.

The Chairperson of the chapter, Mrs Adeola Ekine, made the commendation in a statement in Lagos on Saturday.

She said that the chapter had  received the relief materials which included cartons of noodles, bags of semovita and other food items.

Ekine said that the gesture showed the government’s interest in the welfare of female journalists.

She gave the assurance that the palliatives would be shared among vulnerable female journalists and  others.

She said that female journalists in the state would continue to do their best  in reporting COVID-19 in the interest of the people.

She urged Lagos residents to obey government directives and expert advice aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19“

NAWOJ will always work with the state government especially at this trying period to contribute its quota to the development of the state,” she said.
