The Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries of Lagos State (ALARHOSPS) has made a donation of N1 million to the state government to help in the fight against COVID-19 in the state.

President of ALARHOSPS, Alhaji Muhammed Olagbaye, disclosed the gesture in a statement on Monday.

Olagbaye commended the prompt and decisive steps taken so far by Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to contain the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, the government deserves to be commended for satisfactorily managing the pandemic.

He said that it was not a surprise that the government had been widely commended by both local and international observers.

”We note with great satisfaction, the prompt and decisive steps being taken by Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s administration in the containment of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

”These efforts being frontally led by Gov. Sanwo-Olu have attracted widespread commendation from local and international observers. We are proud of you.

”As a body, ALARHOSPS has made a modest contribution of one million naira to the fund created for the successful prosecution of the war against COVID-19 in the state,” Olagbaye said.

He said that the association was also available to support the effective distribution of palliative foodstuffs to needy members of the society.

”While praying the Almighty God to grant success to the worldwide efforts to end the pandemic, we pledge our readiness to assist the Lagos State Government in the march toward restoring normalcy in the state,” Olagbaye said. (NAN)
