Dominant Victory for Robo Queens Over Dannaz Ladies
FC Robo Queens of Lagos secured a resounding 4-1 victory against Dannaz Ladies FC in the Lagos State FA Cup 2024 final. The match, held on Sunday, showcased the prowess of the defending champions, who clinched their 14th title.
The first half witnessed an impressive performance by FC Robo Queens, with Ijamilosa Folasade netting two crucial goals. Meanwhile, Solati Farimah scored the lone goal for the Dannaz Ladies. The intensity of the game reflected the determination of both teams to claim the coveted trophy.
Folashade Ijamilusi, who delivered a brace for FC Robo Queens, emphasised the team’s commitment: “We worked hard for this competition; it is our 14th title. We wanted to prove to the rest of Lagos that we are truly the Land Ladies of Lagos.” Her words echoed the team’s relentless effort and dedication.
Emmanuel Osahon, the Head Coach of Robo Queens, expressed pride in his players: “We won this cup through sheer hard work. Kudos to my team for consistently lifting the trophy, reinforcing our undeniable dominance in Lagos.” The victory not only showcased their skill but also earned them a cash prize of N500,000.
In a parallel event, Ikorodu City FC emerged as back-to-back champions in the male category of the Lagos FA Cup. They defeated city rivals, Inter FC of Lagos, with a 2-0 scoreline. Ikorodu FC’s Harrison Uzondu secured the first goal in the 27th minute with a powerful header from a corner kick. Their second goal came in the second half, courtesy of a calmly converted penalty by Oyedokun Oluwatosin in the 59th minute.
The triumphs of both FC Robo Queens and Ikorodu City FC highlight the vibrancy of Lagos football and underscore their dominance in the local sporting scene.
