The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the arrest of Mrs. Dorcas Oluwabukola for reportedly scalding her husband with hot water after he attended a wedding without her, marking a distressing incident of domestic conflict.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s spokesperson, validated the arrest with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, affirming that the episode occurred on December 18. “The Meiran Police Division swiftly responded to the information and apprehended the suspect on the same day,” stated Hundeyin, shedding light on the prompt action taken by authorities.
While the man received medical care at an undisclosed medical facility, Hundeyin confirmed that investigations into the incident had commenced.
Initial accounts suggested that the woman grew irate when her husband chose to attend his childhood friend’s wedding without inviting her along, sparking an argument centred on alleged infidelity. This dispute culminated in a heated altercation, ultimately leading the wife to resort to boiling water, which she allegedly poured on her husband.
According to sources, the couple was initially slated to attend the wedding together, but the husband opted to go solo, triggering the sequence of events that resulted in this distressing incident.
