Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, speaking after attending a Christmas service, urged Nigerians to hold onto hope amidst challenges, citing optimism for a brighter future under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. In an interview with journalists, he emphasised the commitment to expedite development across Lagos.
“We are undergoing a phase akin to a patient in recovery—a time of challenges. It’s a shared global experience, and although there may still be discomfort, I assure you, there’s light ahead,” Governor Sanwo-Olu affirmed, referencing the challenges faced and the hope for recovery.
Expressing gratitude and hope for Lagos, he stated, “We will remain the economic hub, attracting investments and fostering socio-economic transformation, ensuring peace and progress.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu extended felicitations to President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for celebrating Christmas in Lagos, underscoring their significant presence. He assured Lagosians of better times ahead, aiming for enhanced celebrations in the coming year.
Additionally, during his attendance at Yoruba Tennis Club and Island Club’s Christmas Eve Dance, Governor Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the re-election support and promised to deliver on various projects, including the Blue Line Rail, Lagos Rice Mill, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and significant road infrastructure.
In response to Bishop Ifedola Okupevi’s sermon, Governor Sanwo-Olu echoed the importance of good governance and addressing poverty while affirming the commitment to the THEMES+ agenda’s dividends. He emphasised the focus on good governance and the Renewed Hope agenda for Nigeria’s economic transformation.
