Cutting-edge air purification system installed at Massey Children’s Hospital in Lagos

The Going Green Natural Foundation (GGNF) has joined forces with Healthy Air Technology to introduce the cutting-edge D-Orbital Nano Oxide (DNO) Catalyst Air Purification System at Massey Street Children’s Hospital in Lagos.

During the donation and installation event on Wednesday, GGNF’s National Planning Coordinator, Mrs. Nancy-Joan Osakwe, highlighted the potential of this revolutionary technology to significantly reduce hospital-acquired infections and airborne pollution. Osakwe emphasised that these infections are major contributors to infant and child mortality rates in healthcare facilities.

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Healthy Air to bring this transformative technology to Massey Children’s Hospital. The DNO system has been proven to eliminate up to 99.9% of airborne bacteria and viruses, mould spores, allergens, and pollution. By creating healthier indoor air quality, we can greatly improve health outcomes for our most vulnerable patients.”

Osakwe also explained the principle behind d-orbital nanooxide catalysts, emphasising their role in promoting chemical reactions by providing an active surface for reactants to undergo transformations.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Annabel Adeyemi-Johnson, the CEO of Healthy Air, expressed pride in partnering with the GGN Foundation to provide cleaner, safer air for paediatric patients at Massey Hospital.

“This installation has the potential to significantly reduce respiratory infections and pollution-related complications in infants and children. We hope it paves the way for wider adoption of our air purification technology in healthcare facilities across Nigeria and beyond.”

Adeyemi-Johnson added that the installation of the DNO system at Massey Street Children’s Hospital represents a crucial step in reducing preventable deaths of infants and children due to airborne diseases and pollution.

The Going Green Natural Foundation (GGNF) is a non-profit organisation based in Lagos dedicated to improving health outcomes for at-risk populations in Nigeria through partnerships focused on pollution reduction, infection control, and health education.
