Oluremi Tinubu calls on Christians to uphold justice and fairness and help arrest Nigeria’s socio-economic slide

Senator Oluremi Tinubu has called on Christians to help arrest the socio-economic slide currently being experienced in Nigeria.

In a message addressed to Christians to mark the Easter, the ascension of the Living Christ, the senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, said:

“It may seem like there is not much to celebrate because the world, not just Nigeria, is faced with so much – unrest, insecurity, rising cost of goods and services, higher inflation rates amongst others.”

“In spite of it all, we must continue to do our best to arrest the situation, upholding justice and fairness, while praying for God’s intervention in all our affairs,” she said.

She described Easter as “a celebration of the resurrection of Christ, and the promise of hope and glory in him.”

“It is a reminder of the renewal and victory we have in Jesus; God’s ability to supernaturally turn things around, hopelessness into hope, give abundant joy and make a way where there appears to be no way.”

Tinubu said that Christians “must not lose sight of the things that are working well in our favour, building on the positive, and safeguarding our commonwealth.”

She said, “Jesus, through his life exemplified giving of oneself, sacrificial service and consideration for others.”

She, therefore, admonished Christians to “find opportunities daily, to extend the compassion, kindness and brotherliness that Jesus teaches to those around us.”
