The Federal Government has confirmed the continuation of rehabilitation works on the Third Mainland Bridge starting Thursday, as announced by the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, in a statement released on Wednesday in Lagos.
Expressing understanding for the inconvenience caused by traffic diversions, Kesha appealed for patience and cooperation from the public, emphasizing the necessity of the repairs for the bridge’s comprehensive restoration.
Kesha stated, “This is to allow for timely completion of works on all sections of the bridge and to also ensure speedy hand-over of a newly-rehabilitated bridge to the motoring public with better comfort and smoother riding surfaces.”
Highlighting the ongoing traffic diversions, Kesha advised motorists to collaborate with traffic officials and plan their routes accordingly to minimize disruptions. She outlined the traffic arrangements, indicating that Oworonshoki-bound motorists should utilize alternative routes in the morning, while island-bound traffic would be facilitated in the afternoon.
In line with the commitment to infrastructure enhancement, Kesha reiterated the government’s dedication to improving road networks for the benefit of all road users.
