Fatal multiple collision claims truck driver’s life on Ojuelegba Bridge

In an unfortunate incident on Monday, a truck driver lost his life in a multiple collision involving two other trucks on the Ojuelegba Bridge in Lagos, as disclosed by Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary at the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

Confirming the tragic event, Oke-Osanyintolu revealed that the collision occurred at 1:37 a.m. while a LASEMA Response Team was returning from a recovery operation in the Ijora axis of Lagos.

According to Oke-Osanyintolu, the mishap involved three articulated trucks, two of which were carrying sand while the third was transporting chicken feed. The lead truck, loaded with sand, reportedly encountered a mechanical malfunction while in motion, abruptly halting its movement.

The subsequent speeding trucks behind it collided with the first truck, resulting in the entrapment of the deceased truck driver while his assistant miraculously emerged unharmed.
