Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Onoja expressed, “The foundation is delighted to be partnering with CIDAC to promote the event so that it goes viral.” He emphasised the untapped potential in food tourism.
Bridget Olotu, Founder of Catalysts Integrated for Developing Agro Company (CIDAC) International Ventures and Native Food Mart, urged government support for rural farmers, emphasising infrastructure and equipment needs. Olotu emphasised CIDAC’s work with local farmers, striving for international standards in their products.
She highlighted the uniqueness of regional food items and the creation of an online native food market to export Nigerian foods globally, mentioning her passion for supporting the less privileged and promoting organic Nigerian foods.
Olotu cited examples like Ofada Garri, Ofada Rice, Barbara nuts, Kano spices, palm oil, and plantains, noting international interest in their products from countries like the US and Canada. The initiative aims to boost Nigerian foods’ recognition globally while promoting organic produce akin to Asian food cultures.
