Nigeria Olympic Committee plans ahead for 2024 events, says NOC Spokesperson

Tony Nezianya, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), revealed in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja that the committee intends to strategise for the upcoming 2024 events, particularly focusing on the Olympics, during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) set for Dec. 13.

Nezianya highlighted that during the AGM, the committee plans to present the 2022 financial record and the audited report.

Regarding the format of the AGM, he stated, “The Executive Board of the NOC will later decide whether the meeting will be virtual or physical.” Nezianya hailed this decision as “a revolutionary approach adopted by the board,” emphasising, “By opting for either a virtual or physical meeting, the executive board has become futuristic in embracing modern technology with expanded participation.”

The committee is anticipated to collaborate with various sports federations in readiness for the 2024 Olympics, scheduled to take place in France between July 26 and Aug. 11.
