An 84-year-old man, Dr. Albert Ndulue, expressed deep concern on Monday over the “alleged vandalism” of his Lagos property despite an ongoing lawsuit contesting its ownership.
During a press briefing in Lagos, Ndulue highlighted that the dispute regarding the property’s ownership, situated at Lekki, was actively under consideration at the Ajah High Court in Lagos, indicated by the suit number LD/6727/GCMW/2018.
Despite the legal proceedings, Ndulue disclosed to reporters that the property, identified as Plot 8, Block 24, Alma Beach Estate, Lekki, had suffered significant damage due to vandalism. He emphasized that the building’s ceilings, roofs, doors, and windows had been stolen, causing substantial harm.
“This property has been a subject of dispute since its allocation in 1993. It’s been an ongoing struggle,” Ndulue explained, highlighting the recent invasion where individuals made away with essential components of the building.
Ndulue appealed to the authorities, urging the police to investigate the reported vandalism.
Earlier on July 13, Justice Ganiyu Safari of the Ajah High Court dismissed Ndulue’s lawsuit, citing the absence of relevant court processes.
Subsequently, the plaintiff submitted a motion, seeking to either overturn the ruling or obtain an injunction preventing the defendants, NICON Trustees, and others, from acting on the court’s decision until the case’s final resolution.
