The Department of State Services (DSS) has officially confirmed the release of Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Dr. Peter Afunanya, the Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications at the DSS, announced Bawa’s release in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.
Afunanya revealed that the former EFCC boss had been released on Wednesday night, although he did not provide specific details about the circumstances of his release. He stated, “DSS confirms the release of former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, a few hours ago, today, Oct. 25.”
It is worth noting that Mr. Bawa had been in DSS custody since June 14 after his suspension by the Federal Government.
