Plateau United FC of Jos managed to defeat Sunshine Stars of Akure 1-0 in a well-fought encounter. The lone goal came from a well-executed free kick by Albert Hilary in the 31st minute. Plateau United dominated the game but struggled to breach the visitor’s resolute defence. Technical Adviser Mbwas Mangut hailed Sunshine Stars as a formidable opponent, and while satisfied with the win, he acknowledged the need to improve the frontline.
Meanwhile, Kano Pillars FC emerged victorious with a 1-0 win against Rivers United FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
