Ikeja High Court reserves hearing on plea bargain for suspected robbers

On Monday, an Ikeja High Court scheduled November 8 as the date to hear the plea bargain of three alleged robbers: Abolaji Kehinde, Tunde Jamiu, and Uche John. They are facing charges of conspiracy and armed robbery.

Mrs. Uche Onoha, the defence counsel, informed the court that the first defendant had passed away while in custody. Subsequently, she revealed that the remaining defendants had applied for a plea bargain on October 5.

In a plea bargain, an agreement is reached in a criminal case between the prosecutor and the accused. Mr. Ola Azeez, the State Prosecutor, expressed no objections to this.

Justice Oyindamola Ogala adjourned the case until November 8 to proceed with the plea bargain. However, she advised the prosecution to ensure that all necessary processes are properly organized before the trial commences.
