The General Manager of Vibranium Valley, Ms. Moyosore Asubiojo, has likened the tech hub to Nigeria’s Silicon Valley, highlighting its emergence as a thriving tech city and a nurturing ground for innovators and startups.
Asubiojo made these remarks during an interview with reporters in Lagos on the occasion of the visit of Mr. Wally Adeyemo, the United States Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, to Vibranium Valley.
She pointed out that Vibranium Valley has evolved into a hub for numerous tech companies, many of which are both resident and incubated within its premises.
Established in 2011, Vibranium Valley Group (VGG) serves as a holding company for fintech entities that offer innovative, data-driven, end-to-end technology platforms.
Situated along the Murtala Muhammed Airport Road in Ikeja, Lagos State, Vibranium Valley is an innovation and collaborative space that houses VGG. The tech campus spans 2,600 square meters and serves as an incubator for some of Africa’s most promising startups.
Asubiojo emphasized that these tech companies focus on various sectors, including Power, Aviation, Education, and Fintech, striving to leverage technology to address challenges not only in Nigeria but also beyond its borders.
“We incubate numerous tech companies here, seeking ways to use technology to solve problems in Nigeria and globally,” she explained.
Under the umbrella of VGG, Asubiojo revealed that over 40 tech companies have been fostered, with various subsidiaries specializing in sectors like Power (Power Tech), Education (EduTech), Fintech (VigiPay), and Aviation (AviTech). Vibranium Valley itself has given rise to approximately 15 companies within the group.
Beyond nurturing tech enterprises, Asubiojo highlighted Vibranium Valley’s commitment to empowering young people, underscoring partnerships with the U.S. Consulate to provide tech education and training. The hub has offered training programs and boot camps, benefiting youths, schools, and university students. Additionally, Vibranium Valley collaborates with the American Corner to equip teachers with technology integration skills for the classroom.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Vibranium Valley operates the Venture Garden Foundation, which conducts various training programs for individuals in the tech field. These efforts reflect the company’s dedication to giving back to society and supporting technology education and innovation.
