FAAN shifts flight operations to Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2

In a recent development, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has directed airlines to relocate flight operations and passenger processing to Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. This directive was communicated by Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua, the Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection at FAAN, in a statement released in Lagos.

Mr. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, gave a directive during his first visit to the airport that led to the decision to relocate to Terminal 2. He mandated that airlines make the move to Terminal 2 by October 1. This relocation is essential to facilitate the much-needed renovation and comprehensive overhaul of Terminal 1.

A recent fire incident that happened at Terminal 1 on September 7 further necessitated the expedited move to the new terminal. In light of these developments, FAAN urges travellers to arrive at the airport well in advance of their flights to ensure sufficient time for check-in procedures and adjustments to the new terminal arrangement.
