Past presidential candidates urge Bola Tinubu to embrace government inclusivity

Several former presidential candidates from opposition political parties that participated in the 2023 presidential election have come together to request inclusion in President Bola Tinubu’s government. Amb. Felix Osakwe, the presidential candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), conveyed this appeal on behalf of the “Forum of Concerned Presidential Candidates” during their visit to Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, in Abuja.

Among the presidential candidates represented in this forum are those from various parties, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Action Democratic Party (ADP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), and Action Peoples Party (APP), among others.

Amb. Felix Osakwe emphasized that their forum stands for peace and the development of Nigeria. He stressed that it is crucial to convey to President Tinubu that not all presidential candidates opposed his victory in the election. The purpose of their meeting with Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje was to show solidarity with the APC’s National Chairman, express gratitude for his appointment, and extend their support to the Tinubu-led administration. Additionally, the group anticipates that Ganduje will facilitate a meeting with President Tinubu to share their perspectives.

In response, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje expressed appreciation for the forum’s visit and assured them that he would relay their views and requests to President Tinubu. He committed to ensuring that they have an opportunity to meet with Mr. President in person.

Ganduje commended the forum for their loyalty to their respective political parties and acknowledged them as responsible ambassadors of their parties, rather than individuals seeking to undermine or exploit their parties for personal gain. He lauded their commitment to political principles and values, fostering a spirit of unity and inclusivity within the political landscape.
