Tennis legend Serena Williams has given birth to her second child, a daughter named Adira River Ohanian. She and her husband Alexis Ohanian joyfully shared the news on social media on Tuesday.
In a heartwarming TikTok video, Williams, Ohanian, and their four-year-old daughter Olympia are seen embracing the newborn, with Williams captioning it, “A warm welcome to my beautiful angel.”
Expressing his joy, Ohanian took to the messaging platform X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Our home is now filled with love and happiness—a new baby girl and a content and healthy mother. Grateful beyond words.”
Having previously mentioned her transition away from tennis following last year’s U.S. Open, the 23-time Grand Slam champion affirmed her pregnancy during the Met Gala in New York in May.
The announcement further suggests that a return to competitive tennis is becoming increasingly unlikely for the 41-year-old Williams, a highly acclaimed athlete celebrated for her remarkable achievements in the sport.
