The Lagos State House of Assembly has announced that it has successfully assessed and evaluated 20 of the 39 commissioner-nominees submitted for consideration by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Governor Sanwo-Olu had put forth a comprehensive list of 39 nominees, comprising commissioners and Special Advisers, to the Assembly on July 28, seeking their screening and subsequent confirmation.
To oversee the meticulous evaluation, Speaker of the House, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, had established a 12-member committee, tasked with the responsibility of conducting the screening process.
Chairman of the committee, Hon. Mojeed Fatai (APC-Ibeju-Lekki), provided an update on the progress, stating that the committee, which convened on Sunday, has successfully reviewed the qualifications and suitability of 20 of the nominated candidates. He further revealed this during a session in Ikeja on Monday.
Fatai affirmed the committee’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate within the specified timeframe. He assured that the screening process would be concluded in accordance with the Wednesday deadline set by the committee.
