Lagos Governor Mourns Death of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has expressed shock and sadness at the death of Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya, the founding pastor of The Fountain of Life Church.

In a press statement, Sanwoolu said Pastor Odukoya was a dear brother and friend, and a dedicated man of God whose faith and belief in God never wavered.

“He was steadfast in worship and diligent in service,” Sanwoolu said. “He was a great preacher and teacher, whose life and ministry has continued to impact the lives of people within the Christian body and outside.”

Sanwoolu said Pastor Odukoya’s demise was a heart-wrenching reminder that life is indeed fleeting. He offered his sincere condolences to Pastor Odukoya’s children, Tolu Ijogun, Jimmy Odukoya, Tobi Enuha, Jomiloju and Timilehin Odukoya, and the entire Odukoya family.

He also commiserated with Pastor Odukoya’s friends, associates, the congregation of The Fountain of Life Church, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the entire Christian body.

“May his soul find rest with God, and may the good Lord comfort his friends, family, and all members of his church,” Sanwoolu said.

Pastor Odukoya died on August 7, 2023, at the age of 67. He was the founder and senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, which he established in 1992. He was also a popular preacher and author, and he was known for his down-to-earth style and his message of hope and inspiration.

Pastor Odukoya’s death is a major loss for the Christian community in Nigeria and around the world. He was a gifted leader and preacher, and his legacy will continue to inspire people for many years to come.
