While thugs pushed voters away at Unit 078, Ward F5, Okeafa, Ilamose Estate, Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 2, voting was abruptly suspended at 10.52 a.m.
After visiting polling places in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 2’s Okeafa, Ilamose Estate, a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent noticed that some thugs had arrived and were starting to throw bottles and stones at voters.
Voters first made an effort to fight off the attack, but the thugs carried the ballot boxes, dispersed the ballots, and chased the voters away.
Also, according to NAN, there was no security guard present at the location both before and during the incident.
As the correspondent returned to find out if voting would resume, the correspondent saw INEC personnel sifting and tallying ballots.
A man who identified himself as a party agent informed NAN that INEC employees had to begin counting votes since they could no longer see voters.
The ballot papers were being sorted and counted, but the goons forbade the journalist from getting too close.
At nearby polling locations 075, 076, 001, and 002 in particular, accreditation and voting were proceeding without incident.
