Yemi Alade, Nigerian Afro Pop artist, has been named as Spotify’s ‘EQUAL Africa Artiste’ for January. Spotify is an internet streaming service.
In a statement released on Monday in Lagos, Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, said this.
According to her, the Spotify EQUAL Africa programme aims to give female artists the tools and resources they need to advance their careers and engage with fans throughout the world via various playlists.
She claims that the recipients also get off-platform coaching and resources to assist them advance their musical careers even further.
