For a special Christmas and New Year’s patrol, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported that 130 men had been deployed on the Ore-Benin motorway.
The FRSC added that for the yuletide special patrol, which started on Tuesday and till January 15, 2023, it sent out three police cars, one ambulance, and one tow truck.
This was revealed to journalists by Mr. Sikiru Alonge, the FRSC Unit Commander, on Friday in Ore, Ondo State.
According to Alonge, the FRSC staff consisted of officers, marshals, and special marshals who were responsible for ensuring the free flow of traffic along the route.
He said: “We are now in the festive season where we have high vehicular movement and influx of people too and that is why we began the special patrol.
“We have also collaborated with other security agencies to ease traffic flow and arrest drivers who flout traffic rules and regulations on the highway.”
However, he warned motorists from breaking the law in order to keep them alive for their families to enjoy and celebrate the holiday season.
