Water Corp promises portable water supply to Lagos mainland residents during Yuletide

On Tuesday, the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) promised state residents—in particular the Otto community—a supply of drinkable water for the holiday season.

In a statement published and signed by the Assistant Director of Public Affairs at LWC, Anifowoshe Rasaq, the Managing Director of LWC, Mr. Muminu Badmus, made this declaration.

Potable water will be delivered to the community and other areas of the state to enjoy this holiday season once the ongoing intervention rehabilitation of the 45 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) Iju waterworks is finished this month, according to Badmus.

He continued by saying that the water supply and output from the Iju Waterworks would be complemented by the waterworks at Iponri and Adiyan, all of which are currently operational.

He declared that the state’s leadership was committed to providing water to every residence.

“This why LWC currently embarked upon great number of projects to increase water production, distribution and expansion, as the state has placed much priority on water sector,” he said.

Badmus went on to say that the firm was unable to solve the issue of the state’s limited water supply and production caused, among other things, by its old infrastructure.

Nevertheless, he complimented the administration, which was led by Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for its practical attitude and assistance in the emergency resuscitation of the Iju, Adiyan waterworks, and Akute intakes.
