Why Nigerians should vote Tinubu in 2023 — Lagos BRT chief

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Mr. Fola Tinubu, Managing Director of Primero Transport Services Ltd., operator of the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system in Lagos State, organised a road show in support of Sen. Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.

When speaking on Wednesday during the group’s road show’s second batch in the vicinity of Lagos Mainland, Tinubu, the director-general of the Bola Tinubu 4 President 2023 Support Group, claimed that the former governor of Lagos State had “the best team to move Nigeria ahead” if elected.

In different local government regions of the state and the South-West states, he claimed the group would organise no fewer than 20 of these.

He claims that the purpose of the road shows is to bring the Tinubu campaign to people’s homes and places of employment.

“We are telling everyone that the best person that can take this country forward is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not only the best man for the job, we know he has the best team for the job in every facets of the economy, security, health, education and what a few.

“We are not just saying Asiwaju is the best, the team around him is the best to take Nigeria forward and get us the Nigeria that we are all yearning for, that we all work and pray for.

“The only person that can do that is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,” the convener of ABAT Framework Outreach added.

He continued by saying that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, had likewise performed admirably to merit a second term in office.

In response to a question about the estimated number of votes the organisation planned to mobilise for the APC candidate, the convener, who was unable to provide a number, stated that they targeted significant votes for the APC in Lagos and other South-West cities.

“We cannot put a figure on this but we want everybody in the South-West to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

Mr. Olajide Oduyoye, Director, Logistics and Planning of the support group, also spoke, stating that the goal of the road show was to persuade voters who were still undecided to support Tinubu.

Former Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) General Manager Oduyoye said:  “We are going out to sell our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“It is to let the people know that if we want a better future in this country, so far as we are concerned, Asiwaju is the best candidate amongst all the candidates.”

Despite never having met Tinubu, Oduyoye claimed that the APC candidate possesses the skills, expertise, and experience necessary to advance the nation.

He claims that all debates around Tinubu’s age and health are only diversionary.

Mr. Babalola Thomas, the group’s coordinator for mainland local government, stated in his remarks that the occasion had made it abundantly evident to the local electorate that Tinubu has the ability to turn around Nigeria.

Thomas said: “Our man has the backing of the grassroots to fix Nigeria. He is a builder of men, why not allow the builder of men to build Nigeria

“He has done a lot, it is the payback time and by God’s grace in February, 2023 we will deliver the vote. I enjoin all our people to vote for all APC candidates.”

In addition to Apapa Road, Costain, Iponri, Alaka, Stadium, Ojuelegba, and some portions of Sabo and Yaba, the road show, which started at the Lagos Mainland Local Government Secretariat, also caused traffic delays in those locations.

The event’s organisers handed out campaign pamphlets, T-shirts, and caps to drivers and locals.
