30-year-old man arrested in Ketu for alleged armed robbery

A 30-year-old man was detained by members of the Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for allegedly carrying out an armed robbery in the Ketu neighbourhood of Lagos.

This is stated in a statement that was published on its official Twitter account on Thursday.

The culprit, a resident of 21, Taiwo Street, off Chinatown Ogudu, was reportedly apprehended on Wednesday while attacking his victims, according to the RRS.

According to the report, the suspect’s two accomplices fled when they saw the police.

“At 11: 45 p.m. yesterday, Wasiu Ajepe, wielding a machete, in company of two armed others (now at large) was arrested by RRS patrol team while robbing the driver and motor boy of a broken down PMS laden tanker after Ojota Bridge, Ketu inward Berger.”

The suspect, according to the RRS, is the head of a gang that hangs out in Chinatown, MKO Garden, Ojota Bridge, and the Motorways at morning and at night.

The two gang members who are on the run are being sought after, according to the report.
