When the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) seized an unregistered Honda for driving against the flow of traffic, they found a pump-action rifle inside.
The car was impounded on Thursday, according to the General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, who made the announcement in a statement from the Director of the Public Affairs Department, Mr. Taofiq Adebayo.
According to Oreagba, the patrol team of the organisation stopped the black Honda while it was travelling against the flow of traffic near Sangotedo, Abijo GRA, on the Lagos-Epe expressway.
He claimed that when the unregistered car’s driver realised the gun had been sighted in his car, he turned around and fled.
The general manager reported that the Divisional Police Officer at Ilasan had received both the recovered gun and automobile for additional investigation.
Oreagba urged people to practise security awareness and alert security officials to any suspicious activity they saw.
