LAPO Wins Microfinance Bank of 2022 at BAFI Awards

The “Microfinance Bank of the Year” for 2022 has been awarded to LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited (LAPO MfB), a prestigious microfinance organisation in Nigeria.

LAPO MfB received the award at the 10th Businessday Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards ceremony, which was recently held in Lagos.

Oluremi Akande, Head of Communications and Branding, said in a statement that LAPO MfB has won this prize category for nine years running.

Akande said that it was a recognition of LAPO’s leadership in the industry and its commitment to its main goal of giving people from low-income families more power in the social and economic spheres.

“Over the years, we have been supporting such low-income households through the provision of responsive financial services and social interventions impacting lives and communities in a sustainable manner.

“This award is dedicated to our loyal clients, resilient and committed staff, board and management for providing sound and strategic leadership in line with the vision of the institution,” he said.

He continued by saying that LAPO MfB was still dedicated to fulfilling its nearly 30-year mandate of providing sustainable social and economic empowerment for those living in low-income families and those who own micro, small, and medium-sized businesses.
