Five hundred unmanned aircraft were released into the air at once. And the spectacle was breathtaking!
In Eko Atlantic, Lagos, Nigeria, Amazon hosted the first-ever show activation of drones.
In the afternoon of November 2nd, 500 drones that had been unpacked and programmed to fly in unison at the same moment based on mapping and geolocation technologies were all to take off simultaneously.
The drones’ platform was not properly levelled according to the operators’ calculations during the preparation phase, thus they were forced to delay the launch.
After a while, the rain stopped, and the drones were successfully released into the night sky.
The Nigerian flag and the Prime Video emblem were displayed by the drones.
Some of the guests’ emotions were evident in their eyes as they gazed up at the lighted sky with teary eyes, while others were filled with awe at what they had seen.
Influencers and celebrities attended the exhibition.
The event heralded the arrival of Amazon’s presence in Nigeria.
The event was posted on Twitter by Tayo Aina, a filmmaker.
The first drone exhibition in West Africa was conducted in Lome, Togo in 2021, with 540 drones being launched into the air to produce an equally stunning impact.
