In an outreach dubbed “MEDICAL MISION OUTREACH” over the weekend, the Women (WM) Department of the Assemblies of God Church, 111 Clegg in collaboration with Maximum Growth Initiative planted smiles on the faces of inhabitants of Otumara.
Hundreds of ladies, teenagers, fathers, and kids attended the event on Saturday at Ilaje, Otumara Ebute Metta (West), Lagos State, which began with a free medical checkup.
People with fever, high blood pressure, generalised body discomfort, and other conditions could also get free medications.
The head of the WM department, Dr. Mrs. Nnenna Ndukwe Kalu, emphasised that the outreach’s primary objective was to give them hope through God’s love and to reach them with the gospel of salvation, in addition to providing families and individuals with relief supplies.
Pastor Mrs. Romoke Ojukwu, who was speaking to the crowd, urged the people to give up their immoral ways, take a stance for Christ by embracing Him as their personal saviour, and to live their lives with an awareness that they are responsible to God, who will judge the entire world.
Given the nation’s current unacceptable situation about the high cost of living as a result of inflation on commodities in the Nigerian markets, the organisers distributed food, clothing, bags, toiletries, and sanitary pads to guests as a consolation at the conclusion of the programme.
For those in attendance, it was a weekend that will always stand out since everyone left happy and smiling.
