Taofeek Alabi, an unemployed guy, appeared before a Lagos High Court in Tafawa Balewa Square on Tuesday for allegedly robbing a pedestrian of a phone.
Alabi, whose home location was omitted, is awaiting trial on two counts of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
The Lagos State Government’s charge against the defendant, however, was one to which he entered a plea of not guilty.
Mr. Olayemi Shofolu, the attorney for Lagos State, claims that the defendant and other people still at large committed the crimes on March 23 in Iyana Oworoshoki, Lagos State.
According to Shofolu, the defendant and the other defendants planned to rob Miss Omotola Ekundayo of an android phone valued N25,000.
He claimed that while Ekundayo, the complainant, was returning home, the defendant approached her and grabbed her phone in violation of Lagos State’s 2015 Criminal Law, Sections 299 and 298(a).
Trial in the case was postponed until January 25, 2023 by Justice Yetunde Adesanya.
