Two individuals were killed and four others were injured in a collision involving a commercial bus, truck, and motorcycle on Tuesday near the Conoil Bus-Stop on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, according to The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE).
Newsmen in Ota were informed by Mrs. Temitope Oseni, the Owode-Ijako Unit Commander of TRACE, who confirmed the event, which occurred on Monday at around 10:03 p.m.
Oseni explained that a Daf blue truck with the licence plate AAA 094 XT was travelling at top speed from Sango-Ota to Abeokuta when its brakes failed, causing it to crash into a commercial Mazda bus with the registration number FKJ 509 XX and a Bajaj motorcycle with the registration number FFF 416 XY.
Six people were reportedly engaged in the collision, which claimed the lives of two people and injured another four.
“The corpses of the victims had been taken to State Hospital, Ota, while the survivors are receiving treatment at the same hospital.”
Oseni cautioned drivers against speeding and reckless driving in order to prevent the loss of life and property.
She also encouraged them to carefully check the condition of their cars before driving them on the road to avoid accidents.
