The 35th National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST), which will take place in Lagos State, is ready to go, according to Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture.
During a media tour of the National Stadium in Lagos, where the festival will take place, on Friday, Akinbile-Yusuf said that all preparations had been completed.
She predicted that the festival, which will take place from November 7 to November 13, will go down in history as the most notable ever.
She gave the federation’s partygoers the reassurance that all necessary preparations had been made for infrastructure, security, transportation, and other factors.
She expressed her gratitude to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the tremendous assistance received in making sure the preparations were completed on time.
“As you can all see that we are 100 percent ready to host Eko NAFEST, we have left no stone unturned and I want to appreciate Gov. Sanwo-Olu for the support enjoyed so far.
“Mr. governor promised that he is going to make this year’s edition of NAFEST a story to be talked about by many, you can see that he has not only promised but he has backed his promise with lots of action.
“The governor has been able to rebrand the iconic National Stadium, it has become a new edifice everyone can be proud of,” she said.
The commissioner stated that the ministry and all security agencies were cooperating with one another to ensure a successful outing.
She claimed that even if the number of tourists planning to attend the festival kept rising daily, suitable lodging would be made available for all festivalgoers.
According to a recent report, Lagos was ranked as the 56th safest city in the world, assuring travelers of their security, according to Akinbile-Yusuf.
She claimed that the government had also developed imaginative programs for the 35th NAFEST, including entertainment city, nightlife, and concerts.
She claimed that all parties involved in the tourist, arts, culture, and hospitality industries will be fully engaged in the festival as they anticipated generating sizable sales.
She mentioned that the state’s numerous local governments would also be taking part in the festivities.
“Hosting this NAFEST is a thing of joy for me because I will get to see my brothers and sisters from across the country without travelling far and wide.
“As a state, we are excited because this is a huge opportunity for us to improve on our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and ensure the necessary data are generated for future reference,” she said.
A media tour of the Bariga lodging facility also took place.
