I knew I will return to Lagos in glory – Sowore

Comrade Omoyele Sowere, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), touched down Lagos on Monday morning, declaring his joy for returning to the city after he was arrested three years ago by security men and taken to Abuja.

Sowore, who was received by a large crowd of party members and supporters, affirmed that despite his arrest and long incarceration, he remained defiant and unbroken.

It was a loud ovation of solidarity songs with trumpets and drumming when he arrived to the waiting arms of supporters and the media.

Sowore said although he was taken away from Lagos at night like a criminal, he knew he would return in glory.

He thanked his party members and supporters for keeping faith in solidarity, stressing that he had become stronger and better.

Sowore said: “The revolution must continue. While I was not in Lagos, a lot of people were arrested and brutalised.

“Let them play their tricks. It cannot work this time. We are citizens of Nigeria. We fought and brought democracy. Things cannot continue like this.

“Nigerians must unite. We must bring a revolution now. Thank you for your resilience.”
