Mojola stated that the necessity of the engagement was to compel companies with high rise buildings adhere to safety rules and regulations, such as having adequate signage, emergency exit, in the event of fire outbreaks and other hazards.

“The awareness and sensitisation programme is organised to take proactive measures and compel companies with high rise buildings adhere to safety rules and regulations, such as having adequate signages, emergency exit, in the case of fire incidents and other hazards.

“Thus, an indication that Lagos plans to have a zero tolerance for hazards in building construction sites and homes, hence the need to call all and sundry that matters in the built industry.”

Sesan Ogundeko, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry represented the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, commended the efforts of the Lagos State Safety Commission and advised the participants to uphold safety standards at all times.
