Sales Run road race draws 40 participants in Lagos

A 5.2-km Road Race to sensitise professional sales personnel on the importance of exercise to their health and physical well being flagged off in Saturday in Lagos.

No fewer than 40 young sales personnel participated in the race, tagged ‘Sales Run 2022’.

The race, which began by 7am at the main gate of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, went through the suburb of Surulere, and ended at the Eagles Club, also in Surulere.

Victor Kalu (Victor Unlimited), who sponsored the road race, said that it was organised to bring sales personnel together and spread awareness of the importance of their physical well being.

He said that the event was aimed at motivating top sales personnel to keep fit and stay healthy.

“It is important for sales personnel to understand that the nature of their job is physically tasking, so it is important to keep fit and stay healthy.

The programme brought people together and equipped them with some techniques needed to make it in their chosen fields.

Similarly, Omobolanle Ovie, Head, Corporate Communicators, Victor Unlimited, told journalists who attended the race that the event was intended to get professional sales executive fit for 2022.

She said that more publicity would be done to sustain the programme and get more sales personnel to participate in coming years.

One of the participants in the road race, Faith Audu, a software/hardware sales personnel, told newsmen that she was excited about the opportunity and would participate in subsequent events.

‘’It’s a very different dimension and I enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the race, especially the fact that I’m a sports enthusiasts myself.

‘’I see the race as a platform where I can network and learn from other top sales executives and make new friends.

‘’I hope to see more women come for the event in the coming years because it is indeed a very motivating event.

‘’It is also a very great opportunity where we carry each other along and socialise the best way we should,’’ she said.

Another participant, Sunday Idoko, who works as a realtor, said he learnt about the road race in an online advert, adding that he gained a lot by participating.

He also said that it was a joyful moment for him as he used the opportunity to learn new skills and interacted with new people in the sales business.

‘’The road race was an enjoyable one, we jogged doing Surulere axis and also did some walking and fitness exercise.

‘’At the end, we also received training on how to make key decisions in our chosen business. Indeed it is a great platform to learn new things,’’ Idoko said. (NAN)
