A 50-year-old man, Akinbode Raphael, on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing motor parts valued at N300,000, when he appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State .
Raphael, whose address was not provided, was arraigned before the court for entering the premises of Primero Transportation company and stealing a cam rod, kingpin rod and 24 pieces of top cylinder, valued at N300,000, belonging to the company.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Okonofua Christian, the defendant committed the offence on July 28, at about 6.30 a.m. at Majidun Awori, Ikorodu road in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Christian told the court that the defendant was apprehended by security guards of the company, who found the stolen items in his possession and handed him over to the police.
This act was in contravention of Section 287 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, the prosecutor told the court.
The case was then adjourned and the defendant ordered by the the Magistrate, Mrs T.A. Shotobi, to be remanded in a correctional facility until 26th August 2021, for fact and sentencing.
