Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, professionally known as DJ Cuppy, will be launching her Apple Music radio show #AfricaNow on Cool FM on Sunday 17th January 2021 at 6pm.
Daughter of billionaire father, Femi Otedola, Cuppy, is a Nigerian disc jockey and producer.
Aside from her father’s lucred glory, Cuppy has been able to carve a niche of hers by breaking the glass ceiling of disc jockeying which was once a male-dominated craft.
She not only plies her trade in Nigeria and the UK, she jets across the planet mastering the crowd at A-list shindigs.
Before people could draw a connection to the oil magnate, she had chosen a name for herself, Cuppy, of which she says, “Well, Cuppy comes from cupcakes. I was obsessed with baking when I was younger and let’s just say, I had cheeks like cupcakes. I was really cheerful and I just loved anything sugary so people used to call me cupcake. Then it was time to pick a DJ name and I went with Cuppy.”
Cuppy grew up in Lagos and moved to London at the age of 13.
