Disclosing this during an interview held on Wednesday at the Secretariat, Alausa, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo stated that the programme, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, is aimed at testing the knowledge of students as well as ensuring that they are always prepared to take up any proficiency test.

Adefisayo noted that the Governor’s Quiz Competition, which is an annual event, is being held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and adaptation to the ‘new normal’, revealing that students and schools have been selected across the six Education Districts to participate in the preliminaries which will herald the Grand Finale coming up 7th August 2020.

In her words, “The Ministry has taken time to study the peculiarities that come with the guidelines for keeping safe as well as ensuring physical distancing and has deployed all necessary technical expertise to ensure that our students can compete in any competition or attend seminars virtually”.
