49 new cases reported nationwide
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu has announced that Lagos State has lost 13 people to the COVID19 virus so far.
In a tweet late on Saturday, 18th April 2020, the governor waxing philosophical, said, “Each person had a unique story and came from a different background.”
“Today, we mourn them and recommit to doing all we can to slow the spread of COVID-19. The risks are real, let’s stay at home and follow guidelines from LSMOH and NCDC.” He concluded.
In a related development, the NCDC has announced 49 new cases of COVID-19 – 23 in Lagos, 12 in FCT, 10 in Kano, two in Ogun, one in Oyo, and one in Ekiti.
As at 10:40 pm, 18th April, 542 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nigeria. 166 – discharged and 19 deaths.
The number of states with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are FCT 19, 306 Lagos, 81 FCT, 37 Kano, 20 Osun, 16 Oyo, 15 Edo, 12 Ogun, nine – Kwara, nine – Katsina, six = Bauchi, six – Kaduna, six – Akwa Ibom, four – Delta, four – Ekiti, three – Ondo, two – Enugu, two – Rivers, two – Niger, one – Benue, and one – Anambra.
