Senator Oluremi Tinubu has enjoined constituents of the Lagos Central Senatorial District to emulate Jesus Christ in this period of COVID-19 lockdown, calling on them to show love towards the vulnerable among them including the elderly, widows and orphans.
In a message to her constituency to mark the Easter entitled – Love, the answer in this time, Senator Tinubu urged the helping of one another and the extending of a helping hand to the vulnerable.
Her message which centered around the theme of Easter which is marked to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ by Christians, harped on the love of Jesus and the power of His resurrection.
Making a note of the COVID-19 lockdown, her message said:
“The circumstances of the celebration this year are peculiar. Like never before, the world is bound together to deal with unprecedented adversity. This pandemic has revealed that more than ever, none of us, individuals or nations, exists in isolation; and our actions or inactions have a huge impact on one another.”
She continued:
“In spite of the lockdown, we must continue to strive to be more like Jesus, lovingly accepting one another, and extending a helping hand to the most vulnerable amongst us. Give love, whatever you can, help the elderly, orphans, widows, and let the love of Christ be evident in your actions.”
Senator Tinubu called for unity in prayers for the redemption, restoration and healing of the land and the world at large. She advised that the best way to be helpful was to obey the directives of the authorities, observe social distancing and strict hygiene, and protect one another to prevent further spread of the virus.
