“Attention, Lagosians! The Christmas table just got more delightful with Eko Rice hitting the shelves across major markets,” announced Dr. Oluwarotimi Fashola, Special Adviser to the State Governor on Agriculture, during a recent visit to the Lagos Rice Mill, Imota, Ikorodu.
“In preparation for the Yuletide, we’re thrilled to offer the 50kg bag of Eko Rice between N43,000 to N45,000 and the 25kg bag at N22,500,” Fashola stated.
“Whether it’s Daleko in Mushin, Ketu, Iddo, Ikorodu, or any major market in Lagos, you can purchase this rice through the Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange (LCFE), our managing partner,” Fashola explained.
“There’s good news for public servants too. You can procure your share from the Lagos State Inputs Supply Authority (LAISA) at Oko-Oba, Agege,” Fashola assured.
“Remember, we don’t directly sell the rice. We’ve joined forces with the Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange, who are the custodians,” Fashola clarified.
“Every grain entering and leaving this mill is through the commodity exchange. This collaboration between the public and private sectors is groundbreaking, a first in Nigeria!” Fashola added.
“Although Eko Rice might not be available in every market yet, our production currently covers only 10 per cent of Lagos’ annual consumption of 40 million bags,” Fashola revealed. “We aim to increase production to 20 per cent soon!”
“So, if you’re searching, you’ll find it in Ikorodu, Daleko Market in Mushin, Ketu Market, and more,” Fashola encouraged.
Prepare to relish a flavoursome Christmas, Lagos! Make your way to these markets or the LCFE and grab your portion of Eko Rice for that delightful holiday meal. Here’s to a festive feast ahead!
