By Joy Essien, Contributing Editor, Lagos Metropolitan.

The attack in Gidan Waya in ‘Yarkasuwa, Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State took place on the night of 11th November, 2025.

In a statement released by the Amnesty International, it disclosed that the attack occurred on the night of 11 November 2025, and highlights the continued failure of Nigerian authorities to protect citizens and hold perpetrators of human rights abuses accountable.

Amnesty International noted that since 2016, rural communities in parts of northern Nigeria have lived under constant threat from armed groups, forcing many farmers and their families to abandon their homes.
