Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 Lagos State elections, has hinted at another potential run for the state’s top job. In a recent interview, Rhodes-Vivour expressed his intention to remain active in politics and learn from past experiences.
“By God’s grace, we are working,” Rhodes-Vivour said. “We are learning from our mistakes and strengthening our movement.”
The 2023 election saw Rhodes-Vivour emerge as a strong contender, challenging the incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Although he lost the election, his campaign garnered significant support, particularly among young voters.
In addition to hinting at a future gubernatorial bid, Rhodes-Vivour has also been critical of the Lagos State government’s spending. He has questioned the allocation of funds for various projects and has called for greater transparency and accountability in public finance.
“We need to scrutinize the government’s budget and ensure that public funds are used for the benefit of the people,” Rhodes-Vivour said. “We cannot continue to tolerate waste and corruption.”
Rhodes-Vivour’s potential return to the political scene has sparked excitement among his supporters, who believe he can provide a fresh perspective and innovative solutions to the challenges facing Lagos State.
