Lupita Nyong’o named Chanel’s newest brand ambassador

In a groundbreaking move, Chanel has announced that Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is its newest brand ambassador. The announcement came after Nyong’o made a stunning appearance at the French luxury brand’s Womenswear Spring-Summer 2025 collection show on the last day of Paris Fashion Week.

Nyong’o, known for her roles in “12 Years a Slave,” “Black Panther,” and “Us,” expressed her excitement about the partnership. “I am deeply honored to share that I am now a global brand ambassador for the House of Chanel. It was wonderful to attend their Spring-Summer 2025 Ready-to-Wear show at the Grand Palais today. Merci beaucoup, @chanelofficial!” she shared on her Instagram.

Chanel has been a significant part of Nyong’o’s fashion journey. “They were one of my first supporters. I remember wearing them as early as 2013 right when my first film, ’12 Years a Slave,’ came out,” Nyong’o told WWD. “Over the years, they’ve often invited me to events and treated me with wonderful hands. When they approached me to be an ambassador, I felt very honored.”

Nyong’o joins a prestigious list of Chanel ambassadors, including Whitney Peak, Margot Robbie, and Kristen Stewart. Her appointment is seen as evidence of her influence and elegance in the fashion world. “Of course, this is an important brand, a legacy brand, a historical brand, and I’m happy and very proud to add to that legacy,” Nyong’o added.
