The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking, with the declaration of ex-beauty queen, Ms. Aderinoye Queen Christmas, also known as Ms. Queen Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, as wanted. Ms. Aderinoye escaped from her residence in Lekki, Lagos, after NDLEA operatives raided her apartment at Oral Estate on January 24th, following credible intelligence suggesting her involvement in illicit substance dealings.
Ms. Aderinoye Queen Christmas is a former Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture.
According to NDLEA officials, “Ms. Aderinoye is wanted in connection with the possession and distribution of illicit substances.” Recovered from her home during the raid were “606 grams of Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, an electronic weighing scale, large quantities of drugs packing plastics, a black RAV 4 SUV marked Lagos KSF 872 GQ, and her picture frame among others,” stated the Agency spokesperson.
In a series of coordinated operations, NDLEA operatives arrested members of an international drug trafficking syndicate, including Sunday Michael Owoborode and Valentine Anene, who were apprehended in Ogun state. Another arrest involved Sunday Adediran, who was found with 20kg of cannabis sativa in Mushin Olosha.
Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), commended the Agency’s various commands nationwide for their efforts in the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy campaign. “We commend the officers and men across different commands for their outstanding feats in intensifying WADA advocacy lectures,” said Gen. Marwa.
In separate incidents, NDLEA operatives arrested a Brazil returnee, Udechukwu Ekene Theophilus, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for ingesting 60 big wraps of cocaine. Additionally, seizures included twelve cartons of tramadol and significant amounts of cannabis sativa recovered from various locations across the country.
The Agency’s operations extended to different states, resulting in multiple arrests and confiscations of illicit substances. “Our commitment to eradicating drug trafficking remains unwavering,” affirmed Gen. Marwa, emphasizing the Agency’s resolve to combat drug abuse nationwide.
