Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed Lagos State’s dedication to harnessing technology for sustainable solutions to indigenous challenges. Speaking at the Endeavor Nigeria’s Annual Scale Up Entrepreneurship Summit in Victoria Island, the governor emphasized technology’s role in ensuring food security, efficient transportation, quality healthcare, and education.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted the government’s initiatives, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure and business-friendly policies. He detailed ongoing efforts, including laying fibre optics for improved internet connectivity, empowering over 12,710 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), and bolstering agricultural productivity via the Agri-preneurship (L.A.P) intervention.
“We’re prioritizing investments that deepen technological deployment for sustainable local solutions. We’re partnering with Endeavor Nigeria to support budding entrepreneurs,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated, applauding the organization’s commitment since 2018 to promoting growth and economic development through high-impact entrepreneurship.
Commending Endeavor Nigeria’s role in fostering a robust free enterprise ecosystem and propelling enterprises like Flutter Wave, Moniepoint, Daystar Power, Piggy Vest, and Paga, the governor highlighted their global visibility and contributions to Nigeria’s GDP.
Sanwo-Olu expressed excitement over these strides, affirming Lagos as Africa’s startup hub, owing to innovative policies creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurial growth.
